In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, One God. Amen.
Welcome to the final stage of the St Demiana & St Athanasius Pre-servants Training Program! Over the next ~6 months we will be working together on the more practical aspects of service. It is very important that you make a serious effort during this time, as you will soon learn that service is not about how much you think you know / can do, rather it is about doing your very best to share the LOVE of our Heavenly Father in all that you do. So, make sure that you regularly:
Pray, and please pray for us.
Read the Bible and spiritual books.
Attend the Liturgy and partake of Holy Communion
Confess and seek spiritual guidance from your confession father
Each trainee will be allocated to:
One PRIMARY SCHOOL class, under the guidance of a mentor
One HIGH SCHOOL class, under the guidance of a mentor
During each allocation you are required to:
ATTEND EVERY CLASS ACTIVITY ON TIME:
Every Lesson (including prayer / hymns)
Every Outing
Every Servants Meeting
FILL OUT AN OBSERVATION FORM FOR EVERY WEEK you attend, regardless of the type of lesson or activity (unless you gave the lesson)
GIVE AT LEAST ONE LESSON:
Negotiate and prepare your lesson(s) well in advance. Your lesson preparation material must be submitted online via the LESSON SUBMISSION FORM or emailed to trainees@stdemiana.church at least 3 days before the Sunday of your lesson to allow us time to review and provide feedback. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you want to discuss any aspects of your lesson planning.
A servant in your class (preferably your mentor) must supervise your lesson(s) and fill out an ASSESSMENT FORM for you. Please ask the servant to do this on the day to maximise the constructiveness of the feedback.
DEBRIEF WITH A TRAINEE SERVANT AFTER CLASS
Discuss any issues / concerns
Submit your OBSERVATION / ASSESSMENT forms online at http://trainee.stdemiana.church
To keep a copy of your observations / assessments, please include YOUR email address on the form and select “Send me a copy of my responses.”
